My wife brought this to my attention one weekend afternoon. She was paying the bills and noticed a 1010 number charge on the back page of our home phone bill.

{ click here for a scan of the bill }

It read; Clear Choice Communications. The charge was only 15 cents and a hefty 76 cents surcharge.

Being an inquiring mind, I thought Id call the number on my bill. I did and the person on the other end doesnt know me or my number.

Conclusion...

Slammed, or in the words of Clear (ripoff) Choice Communications, a billing error... right.

So I sent a letter to the FCC Slamming website and my State Dept. of Consumer Affairs about this. Anytime you get a charge you didnt make or if anything is wrong with your bill, its your duty to report it! At least I think it is.

Who do we use for long distance service?

bigzoo.com. I know, it sounds like a fly-by-night long distance outfit, but it isnt. I heard about this on a radio show by Clark Howard. He recommended highly. You basically stop your long distance company service on your phone bill and use Bigzoo. You have to dial an access number (yes, like in the old days) and a access code then your number. There no month bill and no unnessary taxes! and it 2.9-3.9 cents a minute depending on whether you dial a direct local number or a 800 number. You buy minutes thru their website at $10-$50 intervales. Ive been using it for well over 2 years and like it. My friends like it too.

Nope. No kick backs here. I just like em.
